Telehealth Services Program

Proposed Telehealth Program for Algonquin: A $6/month charge on residents/businesses water/sewer invoice. The $6/month charge would give up to 10 people per address access to virtual medical consultations with licensed healthcare providers through Pathways Physicians Texas, PLLC (PTXX). No additional cost per use. (Obviously, if a prescription is sent to a pharmacy it’s resident’s expense.) Here are a few questions that residents have asked:

The $6/month charge goes to the provider Pathways Physicians Texas, PLLC to pay for the program. Village makes nothing on the program.

Why opt-out, instead of opt-in program? Opt-out program allows for the program to be significantly lower monthly cost. Yes, you can opt-out at: https://www.jotform.com/form/252016362690049

Program is for non-life-threatening situation and doesn’t try to replace medical routine care. Possible scenarios: Possible Urinary tract infection/ear infection and dr. office is closed. A cut that’s possibly infected (send a photo of it via text). An employee of a small business has strep throat, but doesn’t have access to healthcare. In cases of mental health concerns, the medical professional will refer person to mental health experts/services. Telehealth via text within approx. 3 minutes; discuss situation; get prescription sent to pharmacy, if needed. Telehealth medical professionals will recommend person to go to ER, person’s medical dr, or urgent care if situation calls for it in their medical opinion.
