From the Algonquin Police Department:

Make 4th of July Celebrations Safe for Everyone!

As we celebrate our nation's independence, let’s remember to keep the roads safe for all. Drinking and driving is never worth the risk. Whether you’re at a BBQ, a fireworks show, or a party, plan ahead:

Designate a sober driver

Use rideshare services or public transportation

Stay the night if you’ve been drinking

Let’s make this 4th of July holiday memorable for all the right reasons. Your safety and the safety of others are what matter most.

Don’t drink and drive. Arrive alive.

From the Village of Algonquin: The Village of Algonquin is proud to announce that it has received a AAA bond rating from Standard and Poor’s Global Ratings (S&P) for its series 2024 general obligation (GO) bonds.

"We are thrilled to achieve the highest possible bond rating," said Village President Debby Sosine. "This rating is made possible by our diligent financial planning and management. Most importantly, it means significant savings for our taxpayers. A higher bond rating allows us to secure lower interest rates on our debt, which reduces the cost of borrowing for important capital projects."
