Village Meetings - Tuesday, July 11

There are three Village meetings scheduled for Tuesday, July 11 starting at 7:15 p.m. with the Liquor Commission. It will be followed by a Village Board meeting, where voting will take place on agenda items from the (June 20) Committee of the Whole Meeting. A Committee of the Whole meeting will follow and discuss the following items: Art on the Fox; open air dining request at Prestwicke Plaza; T-Mobile agreement; donation of parcels from Algonquin Corporate Campus; agreement for biosolids transfer; agreement for aerator & roof replacement of water treatment plants 1 & 2; and agreement with Encap for Wynnfield detention basin. Green Bracelet Program

From the Algonquin Police Department: Green Bracelet Program participant Stelios and his father Dean receive Stelio’s new Green Bracelet! APD now has 5 registered participants and hope to keep that number growing! Please help us continue to spread the word about this fantastic program offered by the Algonquin Police Department for Village of Algonquin residents.

About the Green Bracelet Program:

The Algonquin Police Department is excited to announce the launch of the Green Bracelet Program

Who is it for:

* For residents who are elderly, disabilities that could place them at higher risk for becoming disoriented, lost or confused, or may have difficulty communicating their needs

* Those who may benefit could be individuals with autism, Alzheimer's, dementia, or other physical or mental health history

What is it:

* Participants will be issued a Green Bracelet containing a metal face plate bearing and ID number and instructions to contact the Algonquin Police Department if the participant needs assistance

* Relays quick access to relevant medical and emergency contacts for the participant

* No personally identifiable information (PII) will be located on the bracelet

Village Meeting - Tuesday, June 27

The Village Board will be meeting on Tuesday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. to vote on three items, along with previous meeting minutes. The special meeting is being held since the following Tuesday is July 4th, federal observed holiday. Please follow the link for the meeting packet. The Village Board will be meeting on Tuesday, June 20th starting at 7:30 p.m., 2200 Harnish Drive for two meetings. The Village Board will be voting on items from the last Committee of the Whole meeting. New agenda items will be discussed at the June 20th Committee of the Whole meeting starting at 7:45 p.m. or immediately following the Village Board meeting if the adjournment is after 7:45 p.m. Committee of the Whole agenda items include: preliminary planned development for Flats on County Line Road Senior Housing Development; presentation on Presidential Park design update; Wood Creek Reach 8 phase 1 & 2 engineering services; Surrey Lane streambank restoration; Souwanas outfall stabilization design engineering; close State highway for Founder's Day parade on July 22 and more. Harrison Street Bridge Open

From the Village of Algonquin: The Village of #Algonquin is excited to announce that the Harrison Street bridge will be reopened by Friday afternoon, and the Riverwalk is now open for use! Crews will still be on-site wrapping up final miscellaneous elements, but the bridge reopening marks the substantial completion of this project. The Village would like to thank everyone for their patience, and we hope to see everyone out enjoying the summer weather on these beautiful new additions to Old Town Algonquin.

Committee of the Whole Meeting - June 13

The Committee of the Whole will be meeting on Tuesday, June 13 at 7:30 pm. 2200 Harnish Drive to discuss special service areas, outdoor storage special use permit, special event licenses, herbicide management, lead service line replacement, change orders, and tree removal along the west side of Sandbloom Road utility easement. There are two meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 6th starting with the Liquor Commission at 7:25 p.m. A new business at 409 S. Main has submitted an application for an A-1 liquor license. The Village Board will be meeting at 7:30 p.m. regarding: proclamation of Pollinator Week; approve prior meeting minutes; approve bills for payment; adopt resolution on replacement fencing at Countryside Standpipe; adopt a resolution on motor control center replacement for Wells 7 & 11; and amend Ch 43.39 Video Gaming Terminals. All meetings are in the board room at 2200 Harnish Drive. There is a public comment period at the beginning of the Village Board meeting. Please register prior to the meeting. The Village Board will be meeting starting at 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16 for a Liquor Commission Meeting, Village Board Meeting and Committee of the Whole Meeting. The Village Board will be voting on agenda items that were discussed at the previous Committee of the Whole Meeting. There will also be a Public Works Week (May 21-27) proclamation and a June Pride Month proclamation. The Committee of the Whole will be discussing fence replacement around the Countryside Standpipe and replacement of motor control center for Well 7 & 11. There is a public comment period prior to the Village Board and Committee of the Whole Meetings. Please register with the Village Clerk prior to the meeting to make public comments. High Hill - Road Construction

From the Village of Algonquin: Please note that if you live or travel through the High Hill subdivision, the contractor has notified the Village that they will place the first asphalt layer for the roadways throughout the north side of the project area this week. Due to the high volume of trucks needed, flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic. We ask for your patience and caution when traveling in the work zone.
