Ribbon Cutting
This morning I attended the Algonquin/LITH Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting of a pollinator garden at VCP printing & lawn signs, 901 W. Algonquin Road. The garden was a LITH Rotary initiative along with the awesome assistance of VCP Print, Land Conservancy of McHenry County and Lowes. Visit the Land Conservancy at www.conservemc.org for pollinator garden ideas for work and home. VCP Print also rents creative lawn signs for celebrations. Please support our local businesses.
The Village of Algonquin is pleased to announce four businesses who are expanding and growing in the Algonquin community. Ashley HomeStore, Barnes & Noble, Tap House Grill, and X-Golf were recently issued permits by the Village to develop retail space at the Algonquin Commons, 1900 South Randall Road in #Algonquin.
“We are excited that these four businesses chose to invest and grow their business in Algonquin,” stated Village President Debby Sosine. “Our business retention and attraction efforts add value to the tax base, which in turn, helps keep the Village’s property tax rate low for our residents.”

McHenry Co. Division of Transportation - Randall Rd. Update
Here is the latest update from the McHenry County Division of Transportation regarding the Randall Road Corridor Improvement project. Work is approximately 90 percent complete; upcoming work includes grooving for pavement markings, installation of striping (once materials are received), and permanent traffic signal activations (once striping is in place).
Unfortunately, receipt of the pavement marking tape has been delayed. The adhesive for the tape is manufactured in Texas, which was hit by a devastating freeze this past spring. In addition to failing power grids, much of the area’s processing equipment was not winter-proof, causing frozen nozzles and burst lines. This situation, in conjunction with reduced supply capacities brought about by COVID-19, has caused a delay in the pavement marking tape material acquisition. An order of this size (75+ miles!) is challenging to fill in normal circumstances, but the above events have made things even more challenging.
